clinical approach and counseling philosophy is cognitive behavioral
and
person centered with an empathic and genuine style. She works on the
premise that each individual has the ability to improve their current
life situation whatever it may be and no matter how difficult it may
seem at the moment. By creating a safe atmosphere for her clients, she
provides them with the opportunity to become more self-aware and to gain
an increased level of control over their individual situations, and
ultimately their
lives.
Joanne's practice is
based on a "strengths perspective" encouraging the individuals she works
with to identify their underlying power and capacity to improve their
lives for the better .She approaches her role as a counselor as a
positive advocate for change working with her clients to help them to be
happy and successful in their lives and to acquire a sense of empowerment.
